Starting off with just a sketch pad in an old disused workshop in 1955 after graduating from the Royal College of Art Robert Welch begun designing affordable, yet functional products.

Today the company remains family owned and operated, with his son and daughter, Rupert and Alice joining the business in the 1990s.
